About this experience

Three hours on a quad that finish with sunset seen from around 2,000 m above sea level. You ride yourself, though you never have to pick the route, because you follow the guide the whole way. We collect you from your hotel in the south of the island and drive you back afterwards.

What you do on this tour

It starts with a hotel pickup and a short drive to our garage. There the guide explains how to handle a quad and what the rules are on the trail, then hands out the gear. Only after that do you take the handlebars.

The route follows roads and tracks towards the Teide volcano. The higher you climb, the less greenery and the more volcanic rock lines both sides of the track. You end up at around 2,000 m above sea level, higher than most of the viewpoints coaches reach.

At the top we stop for the sunset and a snack. The horizon opens up far wider than it does from the beach, and the temperature starts to drop almost as soon as the sun goes down. The whole trip takes about 3 hours including transfers.

Your guide can take photos along the way. That is a paid extra, so ask about the price at the meeting point.

Who this is for (and who it is not)

It suits couples, groups of friends and families who want to do the driving and do not mind dust and engine noise. Quads carry two people: one rides, one sits behind as a passenger. The combined weight of both must not exceed 160 kg.

Only an adult with a valid category B driving licence, carried on the day, may ride. Children from the age of 10 travel as passengers. If you would rather have calm sightseeing with commentary and coffee stops, a car tour is the better choice.

Practical information

The start time follows the season and falls between 16:00 and 19:00. You get the exact time and meeting point after booking, together with your ticket. At that altitude it gets cold once the sun is down, so a jacket or a jumper genuinely helps. Wear closed shoes, because your feet collect the most dust.

We arrange free transfers from hotels in Las Americas, Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos, Callao Salvaje and Playa Paraiso and the immediate area. From Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago transport is available for an extra charge. You can also make your own way to the meeting point. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before the start with a 100% refund.

If you are not sure whether quads will work for your group, write to us and we will tell you straight.
