It’s best to start your tour in the Vegueta neighborhood, the oldest part of the city. Its narrow, cobblestone streets, colonial architecture and numerous monuments make a stroll through this area a true trip back in time. The fourth day is an ideal opportunity to explore the less touristy side of Gran Canaria. In the north, visit Arucas, a town known for its impressive St. John the Baptist Church and traditional buildings.

Then head to the area around the Caldera de Bandama, which is a huge volcanic crater that can be viewed from vantage points or walked around. This is one of the best places to understand the volcanic origins of the island.
