This is a paragliding flight from the north side of the island, near Puerto de la Cruz. You launch from the Mirador de La Corona viewpoint in Los Realejos at 800 metres and soar over the La Orotava valley before landing by the ocean. You fly in tandem with an experienced instructor, so no preparation is needed.<\/p>\n
Transport to the launch site and pick-up after landing are included in the price and handled by an accredited tourism carrier. That means no working out how to reach the viewpoint or how to get back from the beach.<\/p>\n
The launch is from Mirador de La Corona, the viewpoint above Los Realejos. Your instructor sets up the wing, explains how take-off and landing work, and you run a few steps down the slope together.<\/p>\n
Local air currents rise over the La Orotava valley, which makes the flight long and steady. Below you are farming terraces, the towns of the valley and the northern coastline, and in clear weather you can see the contrast between the green valley and the slopes climbing towards Teide.<\/p>\n
You land at Playa del Socorro or in the official El Quinto landing zone, depending on the conditions that day. Every flight includes a professional photo report, so there is nothing extra to buy afterwards.<\/p>\n
This is a good option for anyone after beautiful views and a moderate dose of adrenaline rather than hard flying. Participants must weigh between 35 and 120 kilograms, and the maximum age is 70. Minors can fly accompanied by an adult guardian who signs a consent form. If your weight is close to either limit, tell the operator before booking.<\/p>\n
Flights run every day, including Sundays and public holidays, in the morning, at midday and in the afternoon. The exact time depends on the weather, as paragliding needs the right wind and visibility.<\/p>\n
Dress comfortably in sportswear: long trousers, closed sports shoes and a light jacket or sweatshirt, because 800 metres up is cooler than the beach. You can cancel free of charge up to 72 hours before the start.<\/p>\n
