One day, four places everyone on Tenerife has heard of. You leave from your hotel in the south, come back to the same address, and in between you cross Teide National Park and drop down into two of the oldest towns on the north coast. The tour runs with a certified guide in English.<\/p>\n
The coach heads for Vilaflor<\/strong>, where we make a short stop on the way up into the mountains. From there we enter Ca\u00f1adas del Teide National Park<\/strong> and stop among the volcanic formations. The rock here shifts from yellow through rust to black, depending on when each flow of lava set.<\/p>\n We drop down to the north to Icod de los Vinos<\/strong>, home of the Drago Milenario, the thousand-year-old dragon tree and one of the symbols of the Canary Islands. Then we follow the coast road to Garachico<\/strong>, a town once flooded by lava. There is time for lunch in this area, which is not included in the price.<\/p>\n The last stop is Masca<\/strong>. The village sits in a deep ravine in the Teno mountains, reached by a road of tight bends. The vegetation is nothing like the dry south, because the moisture carried by the trade winds settles on this side of the range.<\/p>\n After that the coach takes you back to your hotel.<\/p>\n It suits people who want to see as much of the island as possible in one day without renting a car or planning a route. It works well as your first excursion of the holiday, because it shows how different the various parts of Tenerife are from one another.<\/p>\n Two things worth stating plainly. This tour does not include the Teide cable car<\/strong>, which is offered on our Teide and Masca departures instead.
