About this experience
If you hold a category A licence and have always wanted to take a Harley through mountain switchbacks, Tenerife is a good place to do it. You ride your own bike in a small group, with a guide ahead who knows these roads and knows where to stop.
Routes to choose from
Los Gigantes, 2 hours. The shortest option, running out to the cliffs that drop straight into the ocean. A good first ride and a good fit for a day with other plans in it.
Masca, 4 hours. The road to this village in a ravine is a run of tight bends where a bike beats a car every time. The same four hours will take you to Teide National Park, where the landscape shifts from green to volcanic within a dozen kilometres.
Teide, 9 hours, or a full-day private route if you would rather circle the island slowly with stops. We also run a separate full-day trip to La Gomera, ferry included in the arrangements.
Along the way you stop for coffee at a Canarian roadside bar. The 9-hour routes also include a lunch stop, though the meal itself is not part of the price.
What the price covers
Four models to choose from: SPORT GLIDE 1800 cc, DYNA STREET BOB 1700 cc, SOFT TAIL 1900 cc and ROADKING 1800 cc. The price covers full gear, meaning helmet, jacket and gloves, plus insurance and souvenir photos and video from the ride. A passenger rides free, and every bike has side panniers for jackets and small items.
Cost depends on route and model. Los Gigantes 2h runs from 110 to 140 euros, Masca 4h and Teide 4h from 230 to 260 euros, Teide 9h from 270 to 300 euros, and the 9-hour private route from 280 to 300 euros. La Gomera 9h is around 450 euros, because ferry tickets come on top.
Who this suits
We require riders to be 25 or over with a category A licence held for at least 2 years, so this is for people who actually ride rather than for a first attempt. We have 8 bikes, so a group of friends can set off together. Without a licence you are welcome as a passenger.
Practical details
Collection, return and the start of the tour all happen in Las Americas in the south of the island. We send the exact location and meeting time after booking. Before you set off we sign a rental contract, just as with a car hire, so bring your documents.
Fuel is not included, and the bike comes back with the same tank level you took it out with. Message us with the route and the model you are interested in and we will handle the rest.
How the tour goes
Motorbike pickup
We meet in Las Americas in the south of the island. We sign the rental agreement and fit your gear, including a helmet, jacket and gloves.
Choosing the route
Choose from Los Gigantes in 2 hours, Masca or Teide in 4 hours, full-day 9-hour options and a trip to La Gomera.
Riding behind the guide
The guide leads the group and stops at viewpoints you will not find in guidebooks.
Coffee stop
Along the way you stop at a Canarian roadside bar for a coffee or something cold.
Lunch on longer routes
The 9-hour routes include a lunch stop. The meal is not part of the tour price.
Back to Las Americas
You return the bike where you collected it, with the same fuel level. Photos and video from the ride are included.
