Island Tour with Loro Park from the South
About this experience
A tour of north-western Tenerife guided in Polish, with a wine tasting included and Loro Parque as the highlight of the day. You leave your hotel in the south in the morning and are back after 18:00, having taken in three towns, one cliff and one of the best-known animal parks in Europe.
What you do on this tour
We follow the coast road west to the viewpoint above the Los Gigantes cliffs. The rock wall drops straight into the ocean, and from here it is clear why they were named the giants.
The next stop is Garachico, the town often called the Canarian Pompeii. Centuries ago volcanic lava flooded it, destroying the harbour and reshaping the coastline. We stop at the viewpoint above the town, with time for coffee and photos.
In Icod de los Vinos stands the Drago Milenario, the thousand-year-old dragon tree. This is also where the tasting of wines and other Canarian drinks takes place, included in the price. Canarian vines grow on volcanic soil, and the wine tastes different from what you know from the mainland.
The highlight is Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz: dolphin and sea lion shows, the only orca show in Europe, and extensive gardens of exotic planting. Entry is bought separately by ticking that option on the booking form. If you would rather not go in, you have free time in Puerto de la Cruz instead.
Who this is for (and who it is not)
It suits families and anyone who wants to combine sightseeing with one big park rather than giving a whole day to each. The tasting is a bonus for the adults, and Loro Parque keeps children busy for several hours.
If you want to spend a full day in Loro Parque from opening to closing, buy the entry ticket on its own instead. This tour gives you a few hours in the park, not the whole day. Note also that the guide works in Polish.

The Polish-language departure runs on Saturdays and starts from the south of the island. We pick you up at your hotel or nearby in the Los Gigantes, Puerto de Santiago, Alcalá, Callao Salvaje, Playa Paraíso, La Caleta, Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas, Los Cristianos and Golf del Sur areas. You are back at your hotel after 18:00.

You have free time in Puerto de la Cruz instead. It is a seaside town on the north coast with a promenade, an old quarter and plenty of cafes, so a few hours pass easily. You return to the coach at the time agreed with the guide.
