Jet Ski - 1h ride
About this experience
An hour on the water with you at the controls. You need no driving licence and no permit of any kind, and the briefing happens on site just before you set off. You ride in a group of at most four machines, watched over from a safety boat.
What you do on this trip
Before heading out, the instructor explains how to handle the jet ski and the safety rules on the water. You are given a life vest and the rest of the kit. It is a short briefing, but enough to set off calmly even if this is your first time on a machine.
Then comes an hour along the south coast. The instructors lead the group to spots you cannot see from the beach, past cliffs and coves. The safety boat stays with you the whole time, so nobody is left alone out there.
The price covers one jet ski, which carries a maximum of two people. You can swap places during the trip so both of you get to drive. When you order, state how many machines you are booking and how many people are taking part.
Who this is for (and who it is not)
It suits people who want to drive themselves and do not mind getting soaked. It works well for couples, since two people share one machine and one price.
There are firm limits. A single-rider jet ski may be driven from age 16 with a guardian’s consent, and a two-person machine only from age 18. Children from the age of 6 may come along strictly as passengers with an adult. The activity is not suitable for pregnant women.
Practical information
You set off from Puerto Colón marina in Costa Adeje.
You make your own way there: it is a short walk from hotels in Costa Adeje and a few minutes by taxi from Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos. We send a map pin and full directions.
The instructor can take photos during the ride; that is an extra, and you ask about the price on site. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before the start, with a 100% refund. If an hour is not enough, there is a two-hour version as well.
