VIP Island Tour max 8 People - Masca + Teide with a Polish-Speaking Guide
About this experience
A full-day minibus tour for a maximum of eight people, guided in Polish. It puts the two places most people have on their Tenerife list into a single day: the village of Masca hidden in the Teno mountains, and Teide National Park with the highest peak in Spain.
What you do on this tour
We begin with Masca. The road there is a series of switchbacks cut into the hillside, and the village itself sits at the bottom of a ravine among Canarian houses of stone and timber. There is time for a barraquito coffee and for the prickly pears that locals sell by the roadside.
From there we drive through the roads and villages of the National Park towards the volcano. The landscape changes every few kilometres: green Teno slopes, then pine forest, then a lava field above two thousand metres.
Inside the park we stop at the most recognisable formations, including Roques García and the rock known as Zapatilla de la Reina, the queen’s slipper. These are the remains of an older crater, inside which the present cone of Teide grew.
Finally we drive up to the base station of the Teleférico cable car. The ride to 3,555 metres is an optional extra: 45 euros per adult and 22.50 euros per child aged 3 to 11, bought separately. If the cable car cannot run because of the weather, the cost of the ride is refunded.
Who this is for (and who it is not)
It works well if you have one day to see the most recognisable parts of Tenerife and would rather travel by minibus than by coach. Note that the guide works in Polish, so book it if that is your language.
The cable car has its own restrictions. Children under 3, pregnant women and anyone with a relevant medical condition cannot ride it. Above three thousand metres the air is thinner and colder, so if you have heart or breathing problems it is better to stay at the base station.
Practical information
Dates are arranged individually, so after booking we confirm the day and time with you. The minibus and guide collect you at your hotel at the agreed hour. The plan and the order of the stops may change depending on which part of the island you start from.
Your ticket with the details arrives by email within 24 hours of booking. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before the start with a 100% refund. Dress in layers, because the difference in temperature between the coast and Teide can be considerable.
If you are unsure whether to add the cable car, write to us before booking. We will tell you when it is worth it and when it is not.
