Gran Canaria island tour with coffee plantation tasting
About this experience
One day that covers most of Gran Canaria: the seaside towns of the south, the cliffs of the west coast, the mountains in the middle and the green north. The tour is guided in Polish, so you plan no route and look for no parking.
What you see along the way
We start in Puerto de Mogán, often called Little Venice. Coloured houses, canals and the marina make it a good place for a walk and a first coffee before the day picks up.
Then we head for the west coast, where the landscape turns raw. On the way we pass the Los Azulejos rock formations, known for the green, blue and rust coloured streaks that minerals left in the old lava.
The next stop is Mirador del Balcón, a viewing platform hung above the cliffs of the west coast, looking down at rock walls that drop straight into the water and out at the open Atlantic.
After that we drive inland through the mountains, stopping at viewpoints for photographs, and reach the Agaete valley in the north, home to the only commercial coffee plantation in Europe. A tasting of tapas and local products is included in the price.
The day ends in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with free time along the city beach of Las Canteras, for lunch or a while by the water.
Who it suits
A good choice if you have a few days on the island and want to see as much as possible without renting a car. It works for every age group.
Be aware that it is a long day in a minibus on winding mountain roads. If you travel badly on switchbacks, or you would rather spend the day in one place, a shorter trip will suit you better.
Practical details
We collect you from your hotel or an agreed meeting point in the south: Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés, Meloneras, Puerto Rico, Taurito and the resorts around them. Pick-up is usually between 8:00 and 9:00 in the morning.
The return south is planned for the afternoon, normally around 18:00, depending on your hotel and on traffic.
