Tenerife Island Tour (eng) - Teide, Icod, Garachico and Masca
About this experience
One day, four places everyone on Tenerife has heard of. You leave from your hotel in the south, come back to the same address, and in between you cross Teide National Park and drop down into two of the oldest towns on the north coast. The tour runs with a certified guide in English.
What you do on this tour
The coach heads for Vilaflor, where we make a short stop on the way up into the mountains. From there we enter Cañadas del Teide National Park and stop among the volcanic formations. The rock here shifts from yellow through rust to black, depending on when each flow of lava set.
We drop down to the north to Icod de los Vinos, home of the Drago Milenario, the thousand-year-old dragon tree and one of the symbols of the Canary Islands. Then we follow the coast road to Garachico, a town once flooded by lava. There is time for lunch in this area, which is not included in the price.
The last stop is Masca. The village sits in a deep ravine in the Teno mountains, reached by a road of tight bends. The vegetation is nothing like the dry south, because the moisture carried by the trade winds settles on this side of the range.
After that the coach takes you back to your hotel.
Who this is for (and who it is not)
It suits people who want to see as much of the island as possible in one day without renting a car or planning a route. It works well as your first excursion of the holiday, because it shows how different the various parts of Tenerife are from one another.
Two things worth stating plainly. This tour does not include the Teide cable car, which is offered on our Teide and Masca departures instead. And the day is long, with a lot of time on the coach between stops, so it is not the right choice if you want to spend hours in one place.
Practical information
We provide transport from the south of the island: Los Gigantes, Puerto de Santiago, Alcalá, Callao Salvaje, Playa Paraíso, La Caleta, Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas, Los Cristianos and Golf del Sur. From El Medano transport runs on Thursdays only. Write the name of your hotel in the order notes and we will email you the time and the meeting point.
Your ticket with all the details arrives within 24 hours of booking, and the version on your phone is enough. Children under 2 travel free on an adult’s lap. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before the start with a 100% refund.
If you would rather have the same route with a cable car ride, write to us and we will match a departure to what matters most to you.

FAQ
The tour is led by a certified guide in English. If you would like commentary in Polish, we offer separate routes with a Polish-speaking guide that cover Teide and Masca. Write to us and we will suggest which one fits your dates.
No. This route includes a drive through the National Park with a stop among the volcanic formations, but without the cable car ride. The cable car is available on our Teide and Masca tours in Polish, from the south or the north of the island.
From the south of the island, in Los Gigantes, Puerto de Santiago, Alcalá, Callao Salvaje, Playa Paraíso, La Caleta, Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas, Los Cristianos and Golf del Sur. From El Médano, transport is available on Thursdays only. The coach picks you up near your hotel and drops you back there.
No. There is time for a meal near Garachico, but you pay for lunch on site yourself. It is worth bringing something to drink and a snack for the journey, as the day is long and the distances between stops are considerable.
Children under 2 travel free on an adult's lap. For older children the booking form has a separate category for under 12s. Anyone under 18 may only join the tour with the consent of an accompanying adult.
