Fishing Trip 4h
About this experience
Four hours on the water around Tenerife, on a boat with an experienced skipper and all the tackle provided. You leave from Puerto Colon in a group of up to 12 people, so everyone gets a spot at the rail and someone to show them what to do with a rod.
What the trip looks like
We sail daily at 9:00 and 14:00 and the trip lasts 4 hours. The skipper knows the grounds around the island and decides where to stop on the day, because that depends on the weather and on what is biting. The seabed off the south coast drops away quickly, so the run out to the fishing grounds is short.
All the equipment is on board and the operator holds every fishing licence required, so there is nothing for you to arrange or bring. If this is your first time, the skipper shows you how to hold the rod and what to do when a fish takes.
The waters around Tenerife hold bluefin and yellowfin tuna, blue and white marlin, barracuda and amberjack. Nobody will promise you a particular catch, because this is the Atlantic and not a stocked pond. Drinks are on board: beer and soft drinks.
Our team keeps an eye on the weather throughout. If the sea is too rough the trip does not run, and you get either a refund or another date.
Who this is for (and who it is not)
It suits people who want to try ocean fishing without buying any gear, and anglers who already know the sport and want to test the Atlantic species. You do not have to fish to come along. Anyone who just wants to watch pays a separate, lower price.
If you get seasick easily, think it over. The boat sits and drifts while you fish, which rolls more than a straightforward cruise along the coast.
Practical information
We depart from Puerto Colon. Within 24 hours of booking you get an email ticket with the exact time and meeting point, so keep it on your phone. The group is capped at 12 people, which means places go faster than on the big catamarans.
You can cancel free of charge up to 72 hours before the start with a 100 percent refund. Under 18s only sail with an adult’s consent. The operator may offer extras on the day, such as photos, paid separately on site.
If you want to know what has been biting this week, write to us before booking and we will ask the skipper.
How the tour goes
Meet at Puerto Colon
We meet at the marina at the time given on your ticket. Trips leave daily at 9:00 and 14:00.
Tackle and briefing
You get a full set of equipment on board. The skipper shows you how to hold the rod and what to do when a fish takes.
Out to the grounds
The skipper picks the grounds for the day depending on weather and what is biting. The seabed off the south coast drops quickly, so the run out is short.

You fish for most of the four hours. The waters around the island hold tuna, marlin, barracuda and amberjack.
