Teide Cable Car Ride - Valid Only with a Purchased Teide & Masca Tour
About this experience
A ticket for the cable car ride up Mount Teide, added to one of our Teide and Masca island tours. The cable car takes you to 3,555 m above sea level, the point where the road ends and the terrain becomes something you cross on foot.
What the ticket gives you
During the tour the group stops at the lower cable car station. Anyone holding this ticket rides up, the rest stay below. The ride takes a few minutes and is the fastest way to get from the floor of the national park to just under the summit of the highest mountain in Spain.
At the top station you are well above the cloud layer that usually sits over the coast. The cone of Teide is above you and the lava fields of the national park stretch out below, along with a good part of the island. The air is thin and it feels far colder than at sea level, which is why long trousers and a sweatshirt are a requirement rather than a precaution, even in midsummer.
The cable car depends on the weather. If the ride is called off because of conditions, you get a 100 percent refund for this ticket and the tour itself runs as normal.
Who this is for (and who it is not)
The ticket makes sense if you are already booked on the Teide and Masca tour and do not want to see the volcano only from below. It is an add on to the programme, not a standalone attraction.
This booking does not work on its own. It is valid only if you have purchased one of the tours: Teide and Masca from the south, Teide and Masca from the north, or Teide and Masca VIP. If you plan to drive to the cable car yourself, this is not the right ticket for you.

FAQ
No. This booking is only valid together with a purchased Teide and Masca tour. If you have not booked such a tour, the ticket will not be honoured, which is why it is ordered in the same order as the tour.
With the Teide and Masca tour from the south of the island, Teide and Masca from the north, and the VIP version of the same route. Choose one of them and add the cable car ticket to the same order, and your booking is complete.
To 3,555 m above sea level. This is the upper station of the cable car, just below the summit of the volcano. The ride takes a few minutes and is the quickest way to get from the National Park almost to the top.
You get a 100 percent refund of the cable car ticket. The sightseeing tour itself then goes ahead as normal, just without the ride up. The cable car is sometimes closed in strong winds, so this happens a few times a year.
At 3,555 m it feels far colder than on the coast, summer included. Take long trousers and a sweatshirt or warmer jacket, plus sunglasses, sunscreen and water for the rest of the day.
